Our client is a well-known brokerage firm in India that provides a range of financial services, such as trading in commodities, currencies, derivatives, and investment counseling. Our client’s vision is to become a leading player in the Indian financial services industry, providing innovative and comprehensive solutions to its customers. The client was facing critical problems with its data centers, including frequent crashes, leading to significant latency issues and cost problems. This was affecting their overall efficiency and performance, which required an optimized data center solution to address these issues. The customer contacted ACC, an AWS (Amazon Web Services) consulting partner, to find a solution to this issue. The client was successfully assisted by ACC in moving their data centers to the cloud. As a result, the client and their customers have benefited from many things, including cost savings, enhanced scalability, and improved security.

Opportunity

Our client is an Indian stockbroking firm that provides a variety of financial services, such as trading in commodities and stocks, conducting research, and providing depository services. The company has a pan-India presence with over 500 branches and more than 2,500 employees. The company’s customer base consists of retail investors and traders, as well as institutional clients like banks and mutual funds.

Our client has a vast customer base and a considerable amount of data to manage. They are currently facing challenges with their data centers, including frequent crashes, latency issues, and high costs. This presents an opportunity to optimize their data center solutions by migrating to the cloud.

Why ACC?

Given that the client’s data centers were experiencing serious challenges, such as frequent crashes, latency concerns, and high costs, ACC was a good fit for their problem statement. The client contacted AWS to learn more about cloud possibilities, and AWS suggested ACC for cloud migration. With more than 350+ employees spread over three business groups, ACC provides a broad range of expertise in consulting, digital, cloud, and operations as an Advanced AWS Consulting Partner.

Solution | Architecture & Services

With the support of AWS, our company, ACC, assisted a client in moving their data centers to the cloud. First, to understand the client’s infrastructure, we examined the client’s current IT inventory. We created a thorough scope of work outlining the procedures necessary for a successful migration and how our team could assist based on it.

To guarantee a seamless and effective transfer, we collaborated closely with the client’s IT team throughout the migration process. We built an Amazon environment and used several AWS services to assist. To make the transition to the cloud as painless as possible, our team used a variety of instances and services.

The client’s smooth migration to the cloud was made possible by our proficiency as an AWS consulting partner, which allowed us to offer a complete solution that met their needs.

AWS Services Used

  1. Amazon CloudWatch- Amazon CloudWatch offers a monitoring and observability solution for developers, SREs, product owners, DevOps engineers, and IT managers.
  2. Amazon Route 53- A reliable and cost-effective way to route end users to Internet applications
  3. AWS Application Migration Service- AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) is a fully automated lift-and-shift (rehost) service that makes moving apps to AWS easier, faster, and less expensive.
  4. AWS Database Migration Services- Relational databases, data warehouses, NoSQL databases, and other kinds of data storage can all be moved using the cloud service AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).
  5. Amazon VPC Endpoints- The endpoints of a VPC are virtual machines. These are horizontally scaled, redundant, and highly available Amazon VPC components that enable communication between instances in an Amazon VPC and services without introducing any risks to availability or placing any restrictions on network traffic.
  6. Amazon S3 Bucket- Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service) is a scalable, high-speed, low-cost web-based backup and archiving service for data and application programs. It allows you to upload, store, and download files up to 5 TB in size.
  7. AWS Lambda service – The Lambda service in AWS was utilized to automate the process of starting and stopping the servers.

Outcome

The optimized data center solution helped the client to provide better services to their customers, leading to increased customer satisfaction. The collaboration between ACC and the client’s IT team ensured a smooth transfer to the cloud, minimizing any potential downtime that could have negatively impacted the client’s customers.

The client also gained improved scalability, security, and flexibility thanks to the adoption of the Amazon environment and many AWS services, which allowed them to respond to shifting business requirements more successfully.
